What is JOAD

JOAD - Junior Olympic Development Program

USA Archery's JOAD Program is for youth as young as 8 years old. Archers learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that fosters increased self-confidence and team-building skills. JOAD develops skills that lead to competitions at the local, state, regional, or national levels or progress into elite training opportunities such as the Regional Elite Development (RED) Program. Archers choose from barebow, basic compound, fixed pins, recurve and compound bow disciplines. Archers interested in joining Flint River Archery JOAD program must register for Indoor Archery classes.

What does JOAD cost?  Archers must hold a current USA Archery membership to join the Flint River JOAD program.  Archers must register and remain registered in our indoor target archery class and we have an additional fee of $20 to begin the program.  This helps with the cost of pins/lanyard for the first 4 pins.  Once an archer earns pins 1-4 the cost for the next level is $15.

Earn Achievement Awards

USA Archery's JOAD Achievement Award Program is designed to motivate and challenge members to develop their archery skills through progressive scoring achievements. This flexible program adapts to the club environment and development of individual athletes. The Achievement Award Program is not structured by age; each archer starts at the beginning and progresses through the program at their own pace.
